Organiser - Bob Richardson
Prior to the event my main concerns were the weather and a low turnout. On the day the weather was kind to usand the atendance unexpectedly high, which led to us running out of maps for the shorter courses and having to recycle maps after people had finished to allow others to have a run. Perhaps leaders intending to bring groups could let the organiser know and we could make sure there would be enough maps to go round.
My thanks to all who helped make the day a success and especially those who assisted Ray Snaith after his heart attack.

Blagdon is quite a small area but with a variety of terrain. David's courses while not challenging the more experienced runners allowed people a chance to see the differences it offers. One of the challenges set was the variety of route choice on some legs and it was interesting to discuss some of the route choices and to compare the splits. The change in areas and the resulting change in navigational skills did catch some people out. It proves what looks like an easy area can catch you out!

You may have heard that Ray Snaith of CLOK became ill out on course and was taken to the RVI by ambulance. The quick action of NATO members and the Ambulance Service means that he is okay but being kept in for a while.
The club send its best wishes for a speedy recovery. (Update 26/2/08) Ray hopes to be home later this week
Thanks go to all who were involved in handling this emergency, including the orienteer who gave up his run to stay with Ray pending medical attention.
