The planner Adrian Barnes was sitting on a beach in Dorset just as the Morpeth race was starting so was unable to provide any event feedback. From the Controller's point of view it was a very successful event, even though it was hard work having to go and actually do the planner's job of putting out and taking in controls! It was a lovely day so no problems. Many thanks to the cadets who I took for a jog around the area (or was it the other way around), positioning them at strategic points where they had a clear line of fire at possible control vandals. Adrian's courses included some of the best parts of Morpeth's castle, woods, and water, and even some relatively experienced runners managed to make major errors including running off the map and hunting around for 10 minutes to find the only entrance to the Millennium Green. It was great to see a mix of runners from outside NATO, including neighbouring Borderliners and Roxburgh Reivers. The event also proved family friendly, and despite my reservations over the technical difficulty of the C Course I think everyone is back now.
