Club Relays - Sunday 17th June at Leazes Park,

Newcastle upon Tyne

Organiser: Andy Clarke, Planner: Patrick Smyth

Many thanks to everyone for braving the weather forecast. Our thanks to Buff for the prizes for the adults – to complement those given to the Juniors earlier in the year.

Most people enjoyed their forays into Leazes Park; aim was to try to force mistakes by loss of concentration. Fred's comment on that very point "in the heat of the competition it's hard to see which tree is which". Interesting as well that the slowest team made no mistakes on the Micro section! It is also very easy to lose oneself on the path network - have to admit almost doing it when putting out the controls. Thanks to those who turned up for this event and all the others in this small series.

And well done to France who with Gallic fervour ran 10 laps rather than the 9 required.

Attached is the all controls map for reference. If anyone wants to know where the other punch kites were, I will have a marked map at the Club Night on Wednesday. Courses as follows:

Junior 1 = 40, 41, 49 2 = 47, 48, 43 3 = 44, 45, 42

Green 4 = 32, 37, 35 5 = 31, 33, 39 6 = 34, 36, 38

Micro 7 = 58, 55, 50 8 =57, 56, 53 9 = 52, 54, 51
