Planner's Comments
First day in two months I've seen the sun at Slaley. So somebody good ran today!
My thanks to Alan for taking over the controlling at the 11th hour and also as we lost the original parking assembly area. This necessitated a frantic replan; not too bad compared to coming up the track yesterday to find the huge fence across the track to the start/finish. I must say (before someone else does) that I was mind in neutral at the time and my first thought was "where on earth (polite version) have I got to? I don't recognise this place". So apologies for the slight diversion.
Thanks to everyone for the comments on the courses. I tried to force people to choose their route based on knowledge of their own strengths. Talked to some who realised they had made the wrong choice. One observation on a large number of people is that they underestimated the difficulty and relied on "sense of direction" rather than a planned attack point or a compass bearing.
Finally thanks to the gentleman from CLARO(?) who returned the wallet I lost 6 weeks ago!
