Planner's Comments

I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas outing to Plessey.

The Challenge was a bit difficult this year as half of the Southern area was not safe to use because of all the rain over the past weeks and the possibility of the River Blyth overflowing at a few hours notice. As it was from Saturday PM until the event because of the overnight rain the Pegwhistle burn rose 2 foot hence the importance of the bridge crossings and the re planning. The area around the boardwalk to the west was under water and the rest of area was very soggy. This being a mining spoil heap and colliery area means the drainage is not the best.

The feedback that I had was good as regards the Butterflies and the Gaffling. This year the Labrynth shape was changed and the courses also gaffled. It was interesting to watch competitors scratching their heads and running in all directions. I will have to think of a new twist for 2016.

Margaret and Hannah made a grand job of the Santa trail which was well used and as Peter says the names and numbers caused a problem a minor problem with the Labrynth. Sort it for next year. Thanks to Ethan and Annette for collecting in the Santa Trail, Peter and Carole for Registration, Richard for the Start and Finally Hannah for the finish/download.

Margaret ran the tombola for club junior funds and you raised £43.00.

Finally thanks to Katherine for putting out controls and to Chris Stafford who not only ran the fastest time for the Challenge but the fastest time for the Light Green and then collected all the controls in.
